What is collagen?
Collagen is a protein. But not just any protein, because it makes up around 30 percent of the total amount of protein in the human body, making it the most abundant protein. As such, it plays a literally supporting role in almost every part of our body.
In its function as a structural protein, it is responsible for the structure and strength of your connective tissue. Whether in the skin, in cartilage tissue, in joints, in bones, in muscles or in ligaments and tendons - collagen is as ubiquitous as it is indispensable, as it provides the necessary strength and elasticity of the tissue.
It consists of long protein chains composed primarily of the amino acids hydroxyproline, glycine and proline. As such, the individual collagen fibers form interwoven fiber bundles that run through the tissue like a supportive scaffold. The stronger the scaffold, the firmer your tissue.
What is collagen hydrolysate?
Collagen hydrolysate is a special form of protein. Through special enzymatic processes, the structural protein is made water-soluble, so that your body can absorb it ideally and incorporate it efficiently into its collagen structure. Due to its high quality, the hydrolysate not only scores with a high bioavailability, but is also very well tolerated.
What is it good for and what functions does it have?

Why not vegan collagen?
A common misconception that collagen can be made from vegan raw materials. There is no such thing as vegan collagen. We use type 1 and type 3 collagen, which is preferable for beautiful skin.
Collagen production decreases with age.
With increasing age, the natural production of collagen decreases. From the age of 20, collagen production in the skin decreases by about 1 percent per year. Yes, the powder should be dissolved in water. In principle, you could also mix the collagen in your coffee, but we would not recommend this because of the acai taste. The Collagen Supermix is intended more as a drink. You could also mix it into your cereal alternatively.
