What is Glucomannan?
Glucomannan is a substance extracted from the konjac root, also known as devil's tongue. Chemically, glucomannan is a starch-like substance composed of complex carbohydrate chains.
A special property of glucomannan is its extremely high water-binding capacity. After all, the dietary fiber can bind fifty times the amount of water in relation to its own weight. The enormous water-binding capacity of the dietary fiber causes glucomannan to swell in the gastrointestinal tract after ingestion. In the process, the substance absorbs the water and becomes a gel-like mass that can easily take on ten times its volume. Due to the increase in volume and the consistency of the mass, the feeling of satiety occurs much faster, so you eat significantly less. In addition, the feeling of satiety also lasts longer.
Food cravings are a thing of the past
However, glucomannan acts not only physically, but also at the biochemical level. As scientists from the Thai Mahidol University have discovered, glucomannan influences the release of the hormone ghrelin. And this hormone, of all things, plays a crucial role in the satiety mechanism. Here, the lower the level of ghrelin, the lower the appetite. Since the intake of glucomannan brings about a drop in the level of ghrelin in the blood, glucomannan is a real secret weapon against cravings.

So 1. they taste really super good. At the end, when they dissolve ns becomes a bit "sandy and mushy" 😅 the effect - less hunger - I feel already n bit but ravenous hunger is still there 🤷♀️

I would not have thought that a small chewy candy can develop this effect. Taste is great. Delicious after strawberry. Many others are unpleasant to chew, swallow or so. Make after about 10 minutes already full. Hunger feeling comes only after about 2 hours again. Eat less. Just a pity that they are not necessarily cheap. But thumbs up.
